I've decided I'm going to try and make productive use of my old workshop blog, so my family and friends in the States and anywhere else can understand my life a bit better. Well I hope at least... If I'm anything like I was 8 years ago I might just drop it.

So I work with youth in Israel and one of the most amusing parts of the job is listening to the music that they like. SO I'm going to be sharing that experience and my thoughts.

So this one has been really big for like a month and a bit now. It is called "Zahav" by Static and Ben el Tavori. The 50's feel of the song is funny for me only when I think of what this country was like in the 50s. It reminds me a bit of "Fuck You" by CeeLo Green in that it tries to take that musical feel and modernize it.

I actually like this one. Especially compared to the other ones that they tend to play. It is a quick song but it's easy for olim to catch on to and understand. It's a huge hit around the country as well... I'm pretty sure it's in the top 10... maybe top 5? And it's catchy as hell. You hear it once and it's in your head for like 3 days. It's been a good 3 months strong for this hit and it's popular across the ages at the moment. Let's see how long it lasts.
